Safety and Security

At Star Light School, the safety of all students, staff, and visitors is a top priority. Our safety policy outlines the measures in place to ensure the security of students and staff within the school premises, including procedures for managing visitors, controlling access to the facility, and responding to emergencies.

A. ID Badges

To ensure a safe environment, students, staff, and employees are required to always wear a photo‑identification badge (I.D.).

B. Visitors

• Visitors must report to the main office/security desk.
• Visitors are required to provide the purpose of their visit and acquire an identification badge.
• Visitors are required to sign in on the visitor log.
• Visitors must enter gate 2, the second entrance of the school.

C. Student Release

• For the student’s safety and security, no student will be released to an adult without a Dismissal ID Tag.
• Each family will receive two Dismissal ID Tags. Your child’s name will be printed on the front of each card.
• The tags must be shown to school staff at the office and to bus drivers/monitors for the student to be released.
• Any parent or designee not presenting a Dismissal ID Tag at dismissal or bus pick-up will be asked to go to the school office to present identification (driver’s license or photo ID) before the child can be released.
• It is recommended that parents/guardians take a photo of the official school‑issued Dismissal ID Tag.
• Only individuals listed on the student's emergency card can remove a student from school.
