Health and Wellness

Our health and wellness policy addresses measures to promote the physical and emotional well-being of students, including guidelines for nutrition, physical activity, and mental health support services.

1. Illness

Students with the following conditions will not be permitted into the school and must be released to a parent or guardian:

  • Fever of 100.4ºF and over
  • Conjunctivitis (pink eye), strep infections, ringworm, and impetigo
  • Coughing or difficulty breathing
  • Nasal discharge
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal pain associated with fever or other signs

Note: The student will stay home until he/she is fever-free for at least 24 hours.

2. Medication Administration

  • Medication cannot be administered to a student without appropriate authorization forms completed.
  • Parents must give permission to administer necessary first aid and medical treatment to a student in the event of an injury or medical emergency during school hours or school-sponsored activities.

3. Immunizations

  • Proof of immunization is required, especially for students enrolled in special education programs.
  • A student will not be permitted to start school if immunization proof is not provided by the deadline.
  • If a student cannot receive an immunization for any reason, a parent must provide a medical exemption signed by a health provider to the school.
