Attendance Policy

ATTENDANCE POLICY
At Star Light School, regular attendance is essential for academic success and personal growth. Our attendance policy establishes clear expectations to ensure that students attend school consistently and responsibly.

1. Reporting Absences

  • Parents or guardians must notify the school as soon as possible whenever a student will be absent.
  • Absences without notification are recorded as unexcused.

2. Excused Absences

Excused absences include:

  • Illness or medical appointments
  • Family emergencies
  • Approved religious observances
  • Other reasons approved by the school administration

Parents must provide a written note within 3 school days after the absence to justify it.

3. Unexcused Absences

  • Absences that do not meet the criteria above and lack parental notification are considered unexcused.
  • Unexcused absences can affect academic standing and lead to disciplinary action.

4. Excessive Absenteeism

  • Students with frequent absences may be subject to interventions, including meetings with parents, academic support, or disciplinary measures.
  • Ongoing absenteeism may affect a student's advancement to the next grade level or participation in extracurricular activities.

Maintaining good attendance is a shared responsibility. Together, we support student success and a positive school community.
